How to add text to a pdf

Open your PDF
Drop the file onto the page and wait for the first page to render.

Pick the Text tool and click
Click where the text should go, then type. A toolbar appears with font, size, bold and colour.

Drag the text block to fine-tune it, then press Download PDF.

Fonts that always work

Text is drawn with the standard PDF typefaces — a sans serif, a serif and a monospace — in regular or bold. These are built into every PDF reader, so no font file has to be embedded and the document stays small and portable.

If you type characters those fonts cannot represent, the text is rendered as a sharp image instead of being silently mangled, so what you typed is what appears.

Getting it lined up

Select a text block and nudge it with the arrow keys for precise placement.
Drag the corner handle to change the text size rather than stretching the letters.
Zoom in before placing text into a narrow field.
Ctrl/Cmd + Z undoes; Ctrl/Cmd + Shift + Z redoes; Delete removes the selected block.
