This rotation is permanent
Rotating the view in a PDF reader usually only changes what you see; reopen the file elsewhere and it is sideways again. That is because the reader never wrote anything to the file.
Here, the page rotation is written into the PDF, so the document opens correctly in every reader, prints correctly, and stays correct when it is emailed on.
Nothing is rasterised
Only the page's rotation attribute changes. Text stays selectable and searchable, images keep their quality and vectors stay sharp.
That also means the file size barely changes — rotating does not bloat the document.
Frequently asked questions
- Is my PDF uploaded to rotate it?
- No. The document is opened and edited by code running in your browser, and the new PDF is generated on your device. There is no upload endpoint in this application — you can watch the network tab while you work.
- Can I rotate only some pages?
- Yes. Each page has its own rotate buttons, so you can fix the three sideways scans in a fifty-page document and leave the rest alone.
- Why does my PDF keep opening sideways after I rotate it in a reader?
- Most readers only rotate the on-screen view and never save it. This tool writes the rotation into the file, so it sticks.
- Does rotating lose quality?
- No. Only a page attribute changes; the page content is untouched.
