Fit image gives each page the exact dimensions of its picture — nothing is cropped, padded or scaled. This is the right choice for screenshots and for anything that will only ever be read on screen.

A4 and Letter centre each image on a standard page with a margin, which is what you want if the PDF is going to be printed or filed alongside other documents.

Turning photos of paper into a document

  • Photograph pages in order, so you have less reordering to do.
  • Crop out the desk before converting, using the resize tool if it helps.
  • Choose A4 or Letter with Auto orientation so portrait and landscape shots both sit correctly.
  • Compress the photos first if the finished PDF needs to fit an email attachment limit.

Frequently asked questions

Are my photos uploaded to make the PDF?
No. The document is opened and edited by code running in your browser, and the new PDF is generated on your device. There is no upload endpoint in this application — you can watch the network tab while you work.
Can I put several images on one page?
Not in this version — each image becomes its own page, which is what people almost always want when turning photos into a document.
Which image formats can I use?
JPG, PNG, WebP and AVIF. PNG and JPG are embedded directly; the others are converted to PNG in your browser first.
Can I choose the page order?
Yes. Move any image earlier or later before creating the PDF, and remove any you added by mistake.
Will the images be compressed?
JPGs are embedded exactly as they are, with no re-compression. If the PDF needs to be smaller, compress the images before converting.
